A dress code represents a commitment to tznius/modesty, commitment to learning and school pride, as well as respect for each other and for school. Students and parents are expected to dress in school-approved clothing to maintain appropriate dress as our school must reflect a Torah environment. Students must be in uniform in order to attend school. All uniform apparel must be purchased from official school vendors.
All Students:
- Uniform bottoms can be either khaki or navy
- Plain white socks
- Navy zip-up sweatshirt with school logo or plain navy zip sweatshirt
- Closed-toe shoes only. No sandals or crocs allowed
Elementary School only:
Girls
Girls’ skirts and dresses are required to cover their knees. ONLY dresses and skirts purchased from Aventura Kids’ Lanaar selection and/or Lanaar’s specific selection at Lands’ End are permissible.
- 1st-grade girls can wear short sleeves or ¾ length sleeve shirts that cover their elbows.
- Starting in 2nd grade, all girls will be required to wear long-sleeve shirts or ¾ length sleeves that cover their elbows.
- Short white socks are permitted.
Boys
- Boys are permitted to wear either shorts or pants up until fourth grade.
- Upon entering fourth grade, only pants are permitted.
- Skinny pants are not allowed.
- Boys must wear white socks.
- All boys must wear a yarmulke and tzitzis.
- Hair must be neat, clean and away from the face. Please do not wait for a teacher to contact you to trim your child’s hair.
Middle School only:
Girls
- Skirts are required to cover their knees. The ONLY permissible skirts are those earmarked for middle school at Aventura Kids and Lanaar’s middle school-specific selection at Lands’ End. Dresses are not worn in middle school.
- Only long-sleeved shirts are allowed. They can be purchased from Aventura Kids’ Lanaar selection, and/or Lanaar’s middle school-specific selection at Lands’ End.
- Dry-fit shirts with the Lanaar logo for physical education classes are available at Aventura Kids and Lands’ End.
- Bas Mitzvah sweatshirts from Lanaar student celebrations are permitted; otherwise, only Lanaar sweatshirts are allowed.
- Light colors of nail polish are permitted.
- Concealer and pink/clear lip gloss are permitted.
Boys
- All boys must wear a yarmulke and tzitzis.
- Only pants are permitted; shorts are not allowed.
- Jean, skinny pants or sweatpants are not allowed.
- Only white polos or button down shirts are allowed.
- Middle School boys shirts available at Lands’ End and Aventura Kids.
- Bar Mitzvah sweatshirts from Lanaar student celebrations are permitted; otherwise, only Lanaar sweatshirts are allowed.
